Review: The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare

Hello fellow Bri's Bookers!

This week I am reviewing The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare. I would give this book a 4/5 stars.

This book is about Magnus Bane, a warlock. He is one of the major characters in Cassandra Clare's series, The Mortal Instruments. This book allows readers to look at Magnus's life more in depth. By reading The Bane Chronicles, I was able to find out about some of his past relationships, friends, adventures, heartbreaks, etc. Composed of eleven short stories, it was quick and easy read.

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone that would like to know more about Magnus Bane and to anyone that has read The Mortal Instruments series and just wants more information and more background. One thing that I do suggest, is that those of you who plan on reading this book, read The Mortal Instruments series first. I think that it will help in giving background and understanding. In my opinion, it would have probably been very hard to read and enjoy The Bane Chronicles without reading the accompanying series beforehand.

The eleven short stories are as follows.

1. What Really Happened in Peru

2. The Runaway Queen

3. Vampires, Scones, and Edmund Herondale

4. The Midnight Heir

5. The Rise of the Hotel Dumort

6. Saving Raphael Santiago

7. The Fall of the Hotel Dumort

8. What to Buy the Shadowhunter Who Has Everything (And Who You're Not Officially Dating Anyway)

9. The Last Stand of the New York Institute

10. The Course of True Love (And First Dates)

11. The Voicemail of Magnus Bane

While reading this book, I found a great website. I would like to share it all with you. I really love it because it gives a short layout of the plot for all of the Shadowhunter novels. There are also pictures and biographies of each character. The website is very detailed and answered any question I had with lots of information. It is an amazing website. Check it out.
